In cars with start/stop function the starter system will be separated from the vehicle´s power system during cranking and temporarily supported by a second battery. Tyco Electronics presents the HCR 200 relay as first automotive relay in its class specifically developed for start/stop applications.
Product Features - Normally closed contact arrangement - Limiting continuous current 130 A at +110°C * Compact design - Optimized for integration in pre-fuse boxes - Minimal contact resistance - High shock resistance (30 g) Applications - Energy Management - Battery Coupling - Start/Stop Documentation & Additional Information The Tyco Electronics HCR 200 relay is the first automotive relay in its class for start/stop applications. During the cranking phase of restart, the voltage of the main battery can drop to critical levels and cause disturbances in the vehicle´s power system. In upcoming compact-to-luxury class cars with start/stop function, The starter system will be separated from the vehicle´s power system during cranking and temporarily supported by a second battery. The HCR 200 relay is designed as a monostable normally-closed relay, which provides electrical continuity in case of failures in the control circuit. The current carrying capability is up to 130 A continuous at 110°C ambient temperature, enabling its integration into pre-fuse boxes and power distribution boxes in the engine compartment. Compared to conventional solutions, the relay additionally offers the advantage of galvanic isolation. |
